Print your menu as a PDF: a print template from the same data
Your printed menu is built from the same categories, dishes and prices as your digital menu - you do not type anything a second time. In the panel you go to the Menüstrukturierung area and open PDF-Vorlage in the side menu. Four steps lead to the result: Vorlagen, Design, Bilder, Fertig - at the end you have a print-ready PDF file with your dishes and prices, which you can hand to a print shop or print yourself. This route appears if you chose Druck + Digitales Menü at the start rather than Nur digitales Menü.
Availability: Menüstrukturierung is not enabled for every restaurant. In the help centre the automatic menu structuring is described as in preparation - prepared, but not yet generally available (see Quick import). If the area is not activated for you, a notice appears in its place asking you to contact support.
The four steps
- Vorlagen - you choose the format, that is flyer or folded flyer.
- Design - you choose the look; the content stays the same.
- Bilder - you decide how many images appear on the flyer and where they come from.
- Fertig - the PDF file is ready and can go to print.
Which print formats are available
- Flyer DIN lang - the narrow portrait format for counter and table.
- Flyer DIN A5 - the compact sheet to take away.
- Folded flyer with a centre fold, 4 pages, either in DIN lang or DIN A5.
- Further formats and page counts are available in the template list.
If you choose a template with spiral binding, 12 mm are kept free at the edge for the punched holes, so the binding does not cut into a line.
The design
In the Design step you choose the look - or you stay with the classic layout without a design. The design only determines the look; which dishes and prices are printed comes from your menu.
Images: from none to one per dish
In the Bilder step you decide how image-rich the flyer becomes:
Ohne Bilder- a text-only menu.Titelbild- one image on the front.Pro Kategorie- one image per category.Pro Gericht- one image per dish.
You upload your own photos, deliberately leave single dishes Ohne Bild, or select Automatisch aus der Bilderbank verwenden; your logo is added as well. Images created with artificial intelligence are labelled as such. More on this under Images for your dishes.
Maintain once, use on paper and on screen
The flyer draws on the same data as your online menu. If you change a price, you simply generate a new PDF file - so paper and screen do not drift apart. What the digital side of the same data looks like is shown by Digital menu & QR code. Individual dishes are edited after confirmation under Gerichte verwalten; that area, too, is enabled depending on the restaurant.
Beforehand: build the menu once
Before anything can be printed, the menu has to exist in the system. Menüstrukturierung offers two routes for that. Under Systemupload you upload your existing menu - images, PDF or Word, up to 40 files of up to 30 MB each; before processing you are asked whether the menu is complete (Ja or Nein). Categories, dishes and prices are recognised; check and correct the data afterwards. The second route is called Manuell erstellen: you create categories and dishes yourself and arrange them by dragging. With Kundenansicht you see the menu as your guests see it, with Daten bestätigen it is published. If something is missing, notices appear beforehand - they do not stop you, they show you where to look again.
What you have to check yourself before printing
While reading your menu, the system enters allergens and additives per dish automatically. These entries are a suggestion, not a confirmation: they can be inaccurate, so the check remains your task - the responsibility for the labelling lies with your business. As long as a dish has not been checked and confirmed, your guests read a notice in the digital menu saying that the entries were made automatically. Also check names, prices and contact details in the finished PDF file before sending it to print - a printed run cannot be corrected afterwards. More on this under Label allergens automatically and Allergene & Zusatzstoffe.
Who is this worth it for?
For businesses that need their menu on paper anyway: a flyer for the neighbourhood, a menu for table and counter, a sheet to hand over. It is particularly worthwhile if prices or dishes change several times a year - then you generate the print file again instead of maintaining the menu twice. Anyone who never prints chooses Nur digitales Menü at the start and skips these steps entirely.
If the area is not visible for you
Menüstrukturierung is enabled depending on the restaurant. If you cannot see it in the panel, a notice appears in its place asking you to contact support - write to us via Kontakt.
Frequently asked questions
Can I generate my menu as a PDF for printing?
Yes. In Menüstrukturierung you open „PDF-Vorlage" in the side menu and go through the steps Vorlagen, Design, Bilder and Fertig. At the end you have a print-ready PDF file with your dishes and prices.
Which print formats are available for the menu?
You can choose flyers in DIN lang and DIN A5, a folded flyer with a centre fold and 4 pages in DIN lang or DIN A5; the template list holds further formats and page counts. For spiral binding, 12 mm are kept free at the edge for the punched holes.
Do I have to type the dishes in again for the printed menu?
No. The print template uses the same categories, dishes and prices as your digital menu. If a price changes, you generate the PDF file again so that paper and online menu match.
Can I include images in the printed menu?
Yes. In the Bilder step you choose between „Ohne Bilder", a cover image, one image per category or one image per dish. You upload your own photos or have images inserted automatically from the image bank; images created with artificial intelligence are labelled.
Can I upload a PDF menu instead of typing everything in?
Yes, in the Systemupload of Menüstrukturierung: it accepts images, PDF and Word files, up to 40 files of up to 30 MB each. The quick photo scan under „Speisekarte hinzufügen", by contrast, only processes images; up to 5 photo scans per month are available.
Who checks the allergens before the menu goes to print?
The system enters allergens and additives per dish automatically; these entries can be inaccurate, and the check and the responsibility remain with you. Until a dish has been checked and confirmed, guests see a notice in the digital menu saying that the entries were made automatically.
How does my menu go online after it has been built?
With „Kundenansicht" you check the menu from the guest perspective, with „Daten bestätigen" you publish it. After that you change individual dishes under „Gerichte verwalten", and for printing you generate the PDF template again.
