QR code for your menu: on the table, on flyers and in the shop window

You get your QR code ready-made from your account. During setup it sits at the station „Startklar" as the first tool QR-Code – with the code that leads to your own restaurant address, two short videos and a print-ready A4 template to download. You print the template and place it on the tables or in the shop window; on flyers, menus and business cards you print the QR code itself. Guests scan it with the phone camera and land straight in your digital menu – with no app to install and no third-party portal in between.

One code for every display

The code leads to the address of your own website, not to a fixed menu file. That is why it is the same code for table stands, flyers, the shop window, packaging and business cards. And that is why the printed code stays valid when you change prices, add dishes or remove a category: you maintain the menu in the panel under „Gerichte verwalten" or „Neues Gericht", and the printed code never has to be created again.

What the guest sees after scanning

The menu opens in the guest browser and adapts to the phone. A fixed bar stays at the bottom with Start, Menü, Warenkorb and Bestellungen. Each dish shows its name and price, plus – where you have stored them – a description and an image, along with the mandatory details that apply: allergens and additives, the base price, the deposit line and the note inkl. MwSt.. Allergens and additives are pre-filled by the system and can be inaccurate. You check and confirm them yourself in the panel, and with that you take responsibility for the information on your menu.

From the scan to the order

Guests tap a dish, choose a size, extras or a required selection, leave out ingredients with „Bitte ohne …" and add the dish to the cart. They then choose Abholung (pickup) or Lieferung (delivery), pick a preferred time within your hours and complete the order with the button Zahlungspflichtig bestellen. The order arrives directly in your order centre, and there is 0 % Provision pro Bestellung – more on that under ordering system without commission. The whole path from the guest point of view is described in the public guide So bestellst du.

Where you find the code: „Startklar", tool 1

„Startklar" is a station towards the end of the setup. With Weiter you go through six tools: QR-Code, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Google and WhatsApp Business. Tool 1 contains your QR code, two short videos – one on placing the code on the table, one on putting it on printed material – and the print-ready template; next to it stands the note to print the code at least 3 cm across so that every phone reads it. Every finished tool then stays as a card in your toolbox and can be opened again at any time; the toolbox is stored on the server, so you find it unchanged even days later.

Ready first, then print

The order link and the QR code are only released once the Startkriterien (start criteria) are met. The system checks eight points automatically in the background; only what is still open is shown – for example an empty menu or opening hours that still come from the template. After correcting them you tap Stand prüfen. This spares you an expensive beginner mistake: codes on every table while the first orders are being rejected. For reading up there is the go-live checklist; this is not a hard block on your website, the page itself is reachable from the start.

Languages, hours and pauses

At the top of the menu the guest chooses a language – your menu can appear in five languages, so one code is enough even for a mixed audience (menu in five languages). Days without stored hours are shown as „Geschlossen" (closed); guests can only choose a preferred time within your pickup and delivery hours, which you maintain under Logistik → Abholzeiten or Lieferzeiten. You can pause online acceptance at any time without your website going offline – so the printed code stays valid.

Who is this worth it for?

  • Restaurants with table service: the table stand replaces reprinting menus whenever prices or dishes change.
  • Snack bars and delivery services: flyers in the neighbourhood lead into the cart with one scan instead of to an engaged phone line.
  • Businesses with a changing offer: you change the daily menu in the morning, the display stays where it is.
  • Shop window and packaging: passers-by can read the menu even when the door is closed; ordering happens within your hours.

Frequently asked questions

How do I get a QR code for my menu?

GastroZukunft creates the QR code for your menu for you. It sits in the setup at the station „Startklar" as tool 1 „QR-Code", together with a print-ready template to download. No graphic designer and no print shop is needed for it.

Does my guest have to install an app to scan the QR code?

No. The QR code opens your menu in the browser that the phone already has. Guests scan with the camera and order without any download.

Do I have to reprint the QR code when prices change?

No. The QR code points to your website and not to a printed menu. Price changes, new dishes or removed categories appear in the digital menu immediately, and the printed code stays the same.

Can I use the same QR code for the table, flyers and the shop window?

Yes. It is one QR code for every display, because it leads to the address of your restaurant. You can print the print-ready template from the „QR-Code" tool as often as you like.

What does a guest see who scans the QR code outside opening hours?

The guest still sees your menu. Days without stored hours are shown as „Geschlossen", and a preferred time can only be chosen within your pickup and delivery hours.

Does an order placed through the QR code cost a commission?

Orders through your QR code run through your own website: 0 % Provision pro Bestellung. What it costs and how to start is set out on the offer start page.

In which languages does the guest see the menu after scanning?

Your menu can appear in five languages; the guest chooses the language at the top of the page. A single QR code is therefore enough even for guests who do not speak German.
