Mandatory details & business information (legal notice, tax mode, alcohol, reusable packaging)
What is this? These details determine which mandatory labels your guests see – from the VAT presentation to the proof of age. For an overview, see Legally compliant menu & labelling. You maintain everything under Restaurant info → Business information.
Legal form & legal notice (§ 5 DDG)
- Select your legal form (e.g. sole proprietorship, GmbH, …).
- Depending on the legal form, additional fields are required – such as the commercial register no. or VAT ID no. (USt-IdNr.)
- Missing mandatory details are listed by the notice banner in the control centre. There is no hard lock – your page is reachable; however, please complete the details before you go live.
Set the tax mode
- Standard taxation → prices appear with
incl. VAT - Small business (§ 19 UStG) → no VAT is shown; instead of the VAT line, the note “no VAT shown” appears.
A tax rate is never assumed automatically. You set the rates per category separately – see Set VAT rates per category.
Alcohol & proof of age
- State whether you sell alcohol, and confirm the licence if applicable.
- Only then can an age restriction
from 16/from 18(§ 9 JuSchG) be set on individual dishes. How this works on a dish is shown by Unit price, deposit (Pfand) & age restriction.
Reusable packaging (§ 33 VerpackG)
Select your reusable-packaging mode (reusable offered / single-use only / no take-away). If you offer reusable packaging, the corresponding note can appear in the menu and cart.
Deposit VAT (visible only when needed)
The field deposit_vat_rate (deposit VAT) appears only when you have
enabled charging a deposit (Pfand) in the order total or the automatic invoice. As long as it is not set,
orders with a deposit remain a receipt. More on this under
Receipt or invoice?.
This feature is set up differently depending on the restaurant.
