Payment methods: Cash & card on site
What is this? The two payment methods that are settled on site – without an online connection. For an overview, see Payment methods. You manage them under Settings → Payment methods.
Switching on cash payment & card on site
- Cash payment is available by default.
- Card on site can be switched on additionally if you use a card terminal at handover/pickup.
- You cannot switch off all payment methods. If you try, cash payment remains active as a fallback (notice “no payment method”).
What guests need for this
For cash and card on site, a phone number of the guest is required. If it is missing, the order cannot be completed.
Confirmation instead of prepayment
Orders with payment on site are initially only marked as pending and only start once the guest confirms them and you accept them. How this flow and the time limits work is described in Confirm cash payment & understand time limits.
