Create a new dish (step by step)

What is this? This is how you create a single dish. For the overview, see Digital Menu & QR Menu. The form is always available and guides you through seven steps.

Prerequisite

At least one category must exist → Create categories.

The seven steps

1. Identity: name, category and – optionally – a dish number. Name and category are mandatory.
2. Description & ingredients.
3. Allergens & additives → details under Allergens & additives.
4. Pricing: price or variants, plus base price (Grundpreis), age restriction and deposit (Pfand) → see Prices, variants, extras & selection groups and Base price, deposit & age restriction.
5. Extras (surcharge options).
6. Selection groups (mandatory selection).
7. Image → see Add images & label AI images.

The dish number

The dish number determines the order on the menu (ascending; dishes without a number appear at the end). Each number may be assigned only once. If it is already in use, „item_number_taken" appears with a note indicating which dish is already using it – in that case choose a different number.
