Activate online payment (optional)
What is this? In addition to payment on site, you can offer an online payment so guests pay directly when ordering. For an overview, see Payment methods. You set this up under Settings → Payment methods.
This feature is set up differently depending on the restaurant.
Which online options exist
The management area shows you up to two online payment options – an online card payment and a payment via a further online payment service. Both are processed securely via verified payment partners; the management area names the providers there by name.
Set up once
- For the desired online option, select “Set up”. You are guided through a guided setup with the payment partner (e.g. business and bank details, identity verification). With “Not now” you continue the setup later.
- The status is shown with notices such as “Setup required”, “Tax ID required” or “Under review” until everything is ready.
When guests see the online payment
An online payment appears for guests only when all conditions are met: the switch is on, the setup is complete and the feature is enabled for your restaurant. If one condition is open, the option is not shown – even if the switch is on.
Amount & completion
The amount to be paid is always determined server-side – the verified amount is decisive, not a value from the guest's browser.
Ending an online payment again
There is no separate “Disconnect”: simply switch the respective online option off to no longer offer it.
