Add Images & Label AI Images

What is this? How to give dishes an image – and how AI images are correctly labelled. An overview is provided by Digital Menu & QR Menu.

Adding an image

1. Open the dish and go to the Image step (categories have their own image field).
2. Upload your own photo or choose an image from the image selection.

When an „AI“ notice appears

Under the EU AI Act (Art. 50), images created with artificial intelligence are labelled:

• Images from the image selection count as AI images and carry the notice automatically.
• For your own photo, the notice appears only if you label it as an AI image yourself.
• Labelled images receive an „AI“ badge and, in the enlarged view, the notice „This illustration was created using artificial intelligence.“

Important: Only images are labelled, not texts. Placeholder images receive no notice.
